Library Visit

Next week on Wednesday we are going to Congleton library to have a visit to learn about the library, how to get books out and to share some library time with the Librarian. We will also get time to choose a book to take out from the library.

In our bags tonight was a library card form to fill in so we can join the library. Please return this to Miss Irwin before next Wednesday so we can take them with us. If we already have a card we can give that to Miss Irwin on the day.

A Mystery Reader with a whale of a story to tell!

This afternoon we had another Mystery Reader appear in Percy’s shed!

Nathan opened the shed to find his Dad inside with his children’s bible. Mr James read us the story of Jonah and the Whale. We really liked the story and after we asked him some quite hard questions about the story, which Mr James answered very well.

Thank you very much Mr James for coming to be a Mystery Reader.

Mr Rusbridge the Paramedic

Today we were lucky enough to have a real life Paramedic to come and visit us in Class Jonah.

His name was Mr Rusbridge and he came and told us about being a Paramedic. He wore his uniform and showed us his jacket and helmet.

He showed us how to use stethoscopes, how he gives people medicine, how to stop bleeding and out on bandages. He even checked Miss Irwin’s blood pressure- which apparently was normal! Then he put Miss Kippen in a car crash and put her in a neck brace!

Then he showed us how to do the recovery position, which we were all really good at. We were even good enough to do it on Giant Mr Wood!

If you want to know how to do it, we made a video. Watch this to help you.

We have learnt a lot today and we hope we can use it to help people. Some of us now want to become Paramedics, but Charlotte still wants to be a vet! 🙂
