PE lesson today was to try a forward roll. It was a tricky one to trust our hands and legs to support our bodies and try to push ourselves over. We all tried extremely hard.

Gymnastics – travelling skills
Carrying on with learning our gymnastics skills, today we learnt how to travel in different ways.
First we tried by moving around the circle, then around the circle and over the benches. 
Then we watched some medal winning gymnastics to see how carefully and beautifully they travelled. We couldn’t stop saying “wow”, “amazing” and of course our buzz word “epic”. Miss Irwin did explain we were not allowed to do what they do until we had been taught how to donut- so no flip triple somersaults are allowed! Shame 😌
Space here we come.
A great start back to our new term today. We all came back remembering our rules and manners.
First thing, we shared our Christmas news with each other. We’d all had a great time. Some of us are Brussels
Sprouts, some of us had toys we wanted. Some of us even got Paddington bear toys. Fabien and Darcey even got the same presents as Miss Irwin.
Miss Irwin told us for the next 6 weeks we are going to become Space cadets, where we have to learn about space. If we learn all the things about Earth, the moon, stars, the planets, rockets and Aliens we will have a special day at the end before half term.
Our first job was to make our Space cadet badges.
In the classroom and outside were our new role plays. We have a space station- which we learnt is where the scientists work who help the astronauts in space. Outside we have a rocket that’s landed on the moon!
This afternoon we did P.E. This term we are learning Gymnastic skills. We got out the big climbing frame and also practised balancing and jumping. We were all very good.
