Mow Cop Trip

Today we want to Mow Cop castle to see the remains of the folly.

It was a bit windy but luckily the rain had stopped.
We all walked around the different parts, looked out at the view and tried to recognise the different parts of the castle.

Then we sat down to do some drawings of the castle.

Thank you to all the mummies who came to help today. We couldn’t have gone with out you-  Judah’s mum, Kalebh’s mum, Lucie’s mum and Mrs Hamilton, Miss Sample and Mrs Irwin. 😃

Sibling Mystery Reader

Today Miss Irwin heard the bells ring and we knew it had to be a mystery reader.

Stan got to open the door as he was waiting so well to find out who it might be. Low and behold…

It was his big brother! Stan wasn’t too shocked though as Joel had already mentioned he might be a mystery reader!

Joel had brought his book about castles. It was called ‘In the castle’ written by Anna Milnourne. He said he’d had it a long time and new a lot about castles.

We all listened beautifully as Joel read us the story.

We learnt things about the castle and who lived there and how to become a Knight.      It was brilliant!

Thanks for coming Joel. 😀

A new half term and a new topic!

After a week off we managed to come to school with big brains ready to learn!

This morning we had discussions about our new topic- before half term holiday we talked about what we wanted to learn (We’d had a few ideas of recipes in the mud kitchen and knights and horses we also liked the three pigs story). Today we liked the look of our potential new role play castle and came up with great ideas. We are going for the fairy tale castle theme with a mix of Shrek, Jack and the Beanstalk, recipe making and Easter! As yet we haven’t given it a name! It’s all going to be very exciting!

We starting our learning today with some play dough disco, then we learnt our 3D shapes. We had a shape hunt outside which was great fun! After that we started our castle building and painting.
