Back to school tomorrow and we will be starting our new topic of Farms.
We planned before half term that we wanted to learn about. After discussing spring weather and how things grow and change. We came up with our own ideas of learning about little animals like chicks and learning about growing foods. So Miss Irwin has hopefully planned a few surprises this half term based on our ideas.
We will be having a walk over to Glebe farm to have a look around their shop and see the animals and what they need. We will also be having a trip to Stockley Farm. A letter for the trip will be sent home as soon as details have been finalised.
For our topic Miss Irwin is asking for anything you can provide from home either by lending or donating. Our resources in Early Years can cost a lot of money and anything we can get for free would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a list of things that will help to make our topic more exciting.
- vegetables for our farm shop- onions, carrots, potatoes, turnips, parsnips, sweet potatoes. Just 1 or 2 would be helpful to keep it fully stocked.
- Food wrappers- bread wrappers and egg boxes.
- Straw, hay, sawdust
- Any flat caps, checked shirts that adults or children do not need anymore!
- Ride on tractors
- Gardening tools- brushes, spades and trowels.
