Well to say we were excited was an understatement!!
Being in our party clothes was exciting enough. But this afternoon we have had Christmas party games- christmas bingo, musical statues, put the carrot on the snowman and dress me like Santa.
In the middle of the party we had a special visitor, Santa!
Then we went home tonight with all our Christmas things- our Christmas card ( which Mr O’Leary helped us to decorate – Miss Irwin takes no credit for the masterpieces that are supposed to be elves) , Christmas tree ornament, Santa model, calendar and prizes.
Tomorrow we might just relax as we are quite tired. 😴🎄🎅
After our Santa camera arrived we have had a lot of questions on our mind. Such as – where does Santa go when he’s not watching us? How do we know he sees everything?
Well the proof came in a letter. It said he was watching us and Incase we forgot he sent a poster to remind us. He also sent Miss Irwin a naughty or nice app on her phone to check which list we were on, it scans our finger print.
We decided it was best to write him a letter asking him our questions and to add in what we really wanted for Christmas under our trees.
Some of us even showed him
Our work after we had finished.
We hope to get answers soon!
How to make a santa out of junk modelling.
1) Design what your santa will look like.
2) Search through the junk for what you need.
3) Then think about how to make the basic shape of the body.
4) Decorate the santa, trying not to get furry hands in the process.
5) Finally, be proud of our finished Santa.
We must definitely be on the
Good list for this. 😃
This afternoon we went over to church to perform our Nativity ‘Angel Express’.
Some of our mummies, daddies and grandparents go to come and see our wonderful acting and singing. This afternoon’s performance had to be the best performance we have done over the last 3 weeks. Well done everybody for working so hard and thank you everybody for coming to see us.
Please help Jack Corrie-Jackson. He is missing 2 M&S navy wool jumpers with his name in, M&S navy shorts with his name in and his Mayoral Navy coat, which also has his name in.
We are asking that all families please check at home to see if these items may appear.
We understand sometimes children may go home in somebody else’s clothes by mistake. Please can you check all jumpers and coats to make sure all clothes belong to your child.
As our term is coming to an end. Its time for a junk modelling day. Next Wednesday 17th December we are going to be making our own junk model Santa Claus.
We have lots of junk in our classroom but we haven’t had much chance to show off our creative and building skills yet. We will be designing our own Santa and what we want him to look like before Wednesday. Then on Wednesday we are going to spend the day creating our own Santa out of recycled junk. We need to save things like boxes, cotton wool, material and little bits that we think we might need to make our own Santa. We should collect them into a bag, with our name on ready to bring in next Wednesday.
We would however like some extra adult help that day so we are inviting all our adults friends-mummies, daddies, aunties, uncles, grandma, grandads etc to come in and help us (even if its for an hour). They have to be able to assist us with our construction (not do it for us) . So we can by the end of the day have a made and decorated Santa Claus. If you would like to help please tell Miss Irwin.
Please find the school newsletter 4th December 2014 for you to read. Inside the newsletter you will find Mr O’Leary’s guidance for making your own Christingle.
