2D Shape games, netball skills and balloon spotting
Monday morning we continued with our 2D shape learning. To show what we had learnt last week in maths we played shape bingo, played name the shape, made playdoh shapes and matched shapes to their names.
In the afternoon we had P.E. We have been learning how to throw and catch balls, doing bounce passes and throwing into nets.
After playtime we were lined up to come inside and then we heard something strange. A hot air balloon floated in front of us into the sky. We shouted and jumped about in excitement. So much so we decided to run up to the field and follow it. The man shouted hello at us.
Who knew you could fit so much into a day of learning!
Firemen P.E
In P.E we practised our Bean game for our warm up. We pretend to be different beans, each bean has an action!
Jumping beans
Mexican beans
Baked beans
French beans “oo la la”
Running beans
We then learnt how to work together as teams to fill our buckets full of water to try and put out the fire.
To finish we had to put the fire out by collecting all the balls!
On Wednesday we are going to practise climbing tall buildings and using ladders to put out fires!!
Who said getting changed for P.E was hard?
This week in school we had our first P.E lessons.
We are learning to get changed to music so we can be ready quickly. Our song is ‘little less conversation’ by Elvis!
We are also trying to get stickers for being the neatest person to put their clothes on their chair. We can also get stickers for being the first people ready and the first table ready. As you can tell by the photos we are very good. So good in fact Miss Irwin is running out of stickers because we are that brilliant at getting ready.
Our listening skills are great in our lesson. We warm up to Gangnam style and play the beans game. We also played balloon tennis the other day.
Sports Day
Our first sports day and what fun it was!
This morning we spent a few hours on the field showing our sports skills. We completed a circuit of 7 different physical skills, with our families cheering us on.
What a lovely day to enjoy our sporting achievements! We managed to avoid the rain and score some valuable team points.

Basketball skills
One of our targets to do on P.E is to catch and throw a big ball, we’ve been practising this for the last few weeks and were getting really good so this week we had a go at throwing the ball in a net. Then we had a game of basketball it was really good fun!
