Please be aware the last school Newsletter included information about the upcoming parents meetings. I have received some slips but not many.
Please read the information on the newsletter and return your requested day and time slot. The day time slots are an extra 5 minutes longer, you might feel this extra time might be more beneficial to you if you have lots you wish to discuss.
Slots fill up quickly. As much as I do try to accommodate your request please be aware some times are more popular than others.
Read the Newsletter here. Newsletter 22nd October 2015
This week in the mornings there will be some slips for you to complete for the meetings if you need one. There will also be an email list for you to put your email on so I can send you a copy of your child’s observations so far. You will need to see this before the meeting so you are aware of their progress against their Early Learning Goals.
Here is a short guide that might be useful to new parents regarding the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). EYFS_Parents_Guide. If you have any questions this may be able to help you to answer them or help you to come with questions to ask.
Below is a link that will send you to the Government website that has exemplification material for what children should be expected to achieve by the summer term. These are good to read to see where your child has to work. During the meeting I will discuss with you how your child is progressing towards these goals and what you can do to support them at home.
EYFS exemplification for Early Learning Goals
As always any questions please come and ask me.
I would like to say a very big thank you for your attendance at Parents Evenings. As always your continued support in your children’s learning is grately appreciated.
All the extra help at home is really helping to make this cohort one of the most successful yet. Keep up the good work and remember “Practise makes perfect”.
Next parents evening will be to discuss transition to the national curriculum and year 1. With also time to reflect and discuss their first year at school with their Early Years report.
I appologise for the lack of blog posts this week. Its very long days with parents evening and I do struggle to keep my brain awake for blogging. But I will hopefully be able to catch you up ASAP.
The newsletter that went out on January 29th informed parents of parents evening, with a slip for people to complete. As yet I have only had a few replies.
Parent’s evening appointments will be on Wednesday 25th February between 3.30pm and 6.00pm and Thursday 26th February between 4.00pm and 7.00pm.
newsletter 29th Jan 2015 . Slip is on page 9.
If you can not print out the slip, please write it down on a piece of paper and pass it to Miss Irwin. Then the teachers can try and coordinate times between siblings and find everybody a suitable time before half term.
*If you can not make parents evening please let me know and I will try to arrange another time to meet you.
Miss Irwin 🙂
I would like to apologise for not being able to make parents evening last week. I am feeling better and will be expecting to see everyone this week.
Class Jonah’s Parents Evening will be on Wednesday 19th November and Thursday 2oth November.
All times will stay the same, unless you wish to change them. If you do wish to change them please let me know.
Parents Evening was a great success and Miss Irwin would like to thank all the parents for coming to talk about our progress.
Miss Irwin would also like to remind parents that their views are extremely important and that your feedback is vital to our learning and the school’s development.
This is why it is important to share your views with Miss Irwin but also on Parent View- the OFSTED site that collates parents views independently of the school.
Please follow this link and sign in and leave your opinions on the school. It doesn’t take longer than 5-10 minutes.
Parents Evening is on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th.
If you haven’t booked an appointment Miss Irwin has allocated you one and put it in your child’s bag. If you have any problems coming please email Miss Irwin and she will see what she can do.
School book fair will be running both nights for parents to order and buy books. Remember – every book bought brings money back into school to buy new books for our Library.
Enjoy yourself mummies! 🙂
