Newsletter 5.9.14

Dear Parents,

What an eventful first week we have had. We have all coped really well with being in school and being so busy. You might find tonight we may be a little bit tired! 🙂

This week we have made new friends, got used to our surroundings and started to show the reception team how clever we are. We have learnt new sounds and been showing off our writing skills. The letters we have learnt this week are ‘s’ and ‘a’. We will continue to practise these next week.

Next week we will be completing our math’s challenges to show how big our brains are. In our packs that have gone home this weekend are number formation sheets please can you practice them with us. They have been laminated so you we can use them with a whiteboard pen.

Today we have been given our first reading books, some of the books have pictures in them and some of them have words. To help us get started with our reading please look and read through the stories twice and write in our monkey diaries when you have done so. This lets Miss Irwin know we are reading at home with you.

How you can help at home.

  • Have a look at our reading books with us and discuss the pictures.
  • Practice writing the letters  ‘s’ and ‘a’.
  • Practice writing our numbers.

Remember if you have any questions or worries please contact Miss Irwin.

Have a lovely weekend

The Reception Team

P.s remember for school dates and information to read The school newsletter on the school website.

  1. I am totally bowled over with this blog and all that they have done in the space of one week. This is brilliant, love the communication and updates.
