This week we have planned our fireman questions, role-played being firemen and started to think about what Firemen do. During the week we have been role playing what to do when the emergency call comes, how to check the houses for fire and how to get people out safely. We know we must get out of a house if there is a fire and if we use a phone we ring 999 and ask for the fire brigade.
We have also learnt the sounds n,m, and d. We have had secret missions to do writing at home. Did you get shocked by our super writing that we have done at home? Today was Genes for Jeans day we made gingerbread jeans men, glitter pockets and potato jean pictures. We also watched some videos about where the money we raised goes to. If you want to watch them at home follow this link. http://www.genesareus.org/keystage1/
Next week we will be learning more about Firemen. We will also be practising our writing for labels and posters in our fire station. We are going to continue practising recognising our numbers and trying to count the correct amount for each number. We are currently making a large number line for Percy so he can practise his numbers!
All children now have online reading books they can read at home through our reading scheme. Go to and enter the username and password for your child and they can start their reading online.
Username: child’s surname (lowercase) Password:first name (lowercase)
How can you help at home this week?
•Practise the new sounds ‘n’, ‘m’, ‘d’. We have also put the next sounds in ‘g’, ‘o’ and ‘c’ too. To give you a head start on next week’s learning.
•Please read the reading books as they will be collected on Monday.
Please make sure the reading packets are in their bags everyday so we can check diaries, do reading and put sound cards in.
Meet the Teacher evening 26 September 6pm.
Have a nice weekend,
